GlossyBox Vs. BirchBox Review (Part 2)

28

Hey There Guys!

So this is the second part of my "GlossyBox Vs. BirchBox review" I am now going to review my September BirchBox as I have previously done the GlossyBox one (If you haven't seen it yet please check it out!)

BirchBox

I received my BirchBox a little later than I expected because of it being September Weekend and a bank holiday, so it couldn't really be helped. When I opened my box I got my little "Welcome To BirchBox" leaflet which was a nice little touch, makes me feel like i'm not just a number. The theme for this months box was "Backstage To Real Life" which is basically focused on people getting back to they're busy lives again after Summer. The box itself is your normal brown box with the white border and my little pouch had a yellow drawstring with yellow writing. I will probably keep the little pouch for a toiletry bag when travelling. Inside the box I received a mini magazine called "THE MAG" which is enjoyable reading and I liked this feature. The magazine has basically got a letter from the editor, interviews, things to read, watch, listen to & trends. It also goes into a lot of detail about the products in this months box which is great.

The Five Products I Received In My Box This Month Are:

Lifestyle Extra - Green&Blacks White Chocolate.

Révérence de Bastien - Nail Polish(12ml):
This is the first full size product I seen in my box and I hadn't heard of the brand before but I presumed it was a French brand. I received a colour called "No. 7" not a very posh name at all, in fact not a very exciting name as well. The colour was a beautiful light pearly pink shade (Right up my street) which i loved because you can basically wear it any day and it's a very plain neutral shade so it wouldn't clash with whatever you decide to wear/accessories. I applied two coats and it was lovely and shiny, I am very pleased with this product. The only negative comment I could say is that I don't think it's an Autumn/Winter shade it's more like a Spring shade. This Costs a whopping £16.00

Bioderma - Sensibio H20 (20ml):

When I seen this in my box I was very excited I've been dying to try Bioderma's products for a while now, and I can vouch that it did not disappoint! I received "Sensibio" which is the pink bottle, this is for people with (Normal to dry/sensitive skin) which suited me exceptionally because I have DUN,DUN,DUN! normal skin but also sometimes very dry skin. So this shows me that my beauty profile I done on BirchBox Actually worked because I stated my skin type & low and behold I got the right one for my skin! FABULOUS. I soaked two cotton pads and it removed all of my make-up effortlessly and left my skin feeling squeaky clean & soft and it is unbelievably better than my usual everyday wipes. So therefore I will be converting to Bioderma and will be with out a doubt purchase this again very, very soon! Full size product costs £9.99 from http://www.escentual.com/bioderma/bioderma013/

ModelCo. - Party Proof Matte Lipstick:

This is the second full size product that we are greeted with (YESSSSSSS) and I am happy, happy, happy! I love ModelCo. so this is exactly the kind of thing I like to see. I received a shade called "Kitty" weird name, better than "No.7" I guess. At a first glance the lipstick looks a very dark browny/plum colour which is very well suited for the current season! Deceptively when I done a swatch on my hand it was IN FACT a lovely neutral pretty pink shade. The lipstick packaging says it is a "MATTE" lipstick but I disagree. I am very satisfied with this lipstick as the colour compliments me especially well and it smells SOOOOOOO good like sweeties! uggggh I end up licking it all of my lips haha. Is it my favorite lipstick ever? hmmm probably not, but I don't particularly have a favorite lipstick I wouldn't be able to decided and also I prefer lip gloss over lipstick 75% of the time! More to the point this was a fantastic product. The cost of this product is £16.95 from http://www.modelcocosmetics.com/shop/party-proof-lipstick

Aromatherapy Associates - Revive Body Gel (40ml):

The word "Aromatherapy" makes me think of spas, relaxation, beauty salons etc so when I seen this I thought "I bet this will smell gorgeous!" and you're damn right it did! If you have ever walked into a beauty salon or spa they have this lovely relaxing smell then it's exactly what this smells like. I haven't heard of the brand but i'm always curious to try new brands & products. The revive body gel is said to even body's skin tone and maintain healthy circulation after a busy day (Which I guess fits in with the theme) I have chronic back pain nearly every day so I thought my back would be an appropriate place to try this out and I can say it smelt great, felt great & basically did exactly what it said on the tube... relaxed me! The sample size was a very fitting size so I am happy about that. I'm not exactly sure weather or not i'd buy the full size yet but you never know. The full size product costs £26.68 from http://www.beautybay.com/bathandbody/aromatherapyassociates/revivebodygel/

Molton Brown - Ylang-Ylang Nourishing Body Lotion(30ml):
Molton Brown is a well known brand in the UK and I was delighted to see a sample in my box this month. It was an OKAY size sample nothing spectacular but let's be honest who is going to complain with a delightful little bottle of Molton Brown body lotion...NOT ME! I tried this a couple of hours ago and it said you were to "apply over still-damp skin to lock in moisture" which i did. It smells superb, and you can still smell it long after you've applied it and it made my skin feel delightful and baby skin soft! Will I be buying the full size? Ofcourse I will! the full size product costs £25 from http://www.moltonbrown.co.uk/

Green&Black's - White Chocolate:

This was September's lifestyle extra, White chocolate...A GIFT FROM GOD! the miniature sample was adorable/very cute. I adore white chocolate and i'm a undeniable choco-holic so this simple little bar made me a happy girl. It was really creamy had a hint of vanilla and strangely had a beautiful fragrance to it. I will be buying myself a big bar of this, DELICIOUS! you can pick up a full size bar for £1.75 from http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?cmpid=ahc-_-ghs-_-asdacom-dsk-_-hp-_-sub-gro-title#/product/31486046

My Overall Opinion Of This Months Box:

My overall opinion of my first ever BirchBox is incredible i'm very pleased! I loved all five products I was given and I got sooo much more than the money I paid which is unbelievable! I was very pleased that I received 2 full size products in my box. I cannot wait for next months box now & I am now a massive BirchBox fan, I'd recommend it to anyone. The best bit of all is not knowing what is going to be in your box every month it's like Christmas (I love surprises!)

Drop me a comment below & let me know what your thoughts are and also what you got in this months BirchBox! XOXO
