My First GlossyBox Vs. BirchBox Review

28

Hey there guys!

I have just recently stumbled upon and subscribed to both GlossyBox and BirchBox, I have received both my boxes this week so I thought I would review them both separately and then give you my over all opinion of which one was my favourite box this month (September 2013)

GlossyBox

So I received my GlossyBox on the estimated delivery day that was given, which was great. When I opened my box I realised the theme was of course London Fashion Week. The box as you can see was a union jack and has a very British feel and was decorated inside accordingly, which was good because it kept to the main theme but not really my cup of tea. So I most likely won't keep this months box. Inside the box I received a mini magazine called "GB MAG" which was also a really cute/nice touch! It again kept to the over all theme and was basically just articles about what's on trend, interviews and some more detailed information about the products you received and also a discount code which is always good.

The five products I received in my box this month are:

Elizabeth Arden-Untold(5ml)
I actually really like this sample, the packaging was lovely & it had a nice little quote inside the box and the bottle itself also looked very sophisticated/elegant. I thought the sample was a very decent size not one of those "one sprays and it's finished" type things. It has a floral, sweet smelling fragrance which lasts throughout the day. It's basically femininity in a bottle. I'm not sure if I would buy the full size as I can't see It being my signature fragrance but it is still very nice. The full size bottle costs £69 at debenhams.com

 Eylure - Pre-Glued Lashes
I have used eyelashes by Eylure before and personally I'm not the biggest fan of false eyelashes so I wasn't jumping for joy when I seen these in my box, but I thought i'd give them a try anyway because they were pre-glued. They are very natural looking and I suppose they do what they're suppose to do but again I don't wear false eyelashes very often. They cost £5.06 (Which of course is a full size product) from eylure.com or alternatively boots.com

Toni&Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe - Classic Shine&Gloss Serum(30ml)
I really love serums I use them quite a lot to give my hair some extra shine, I see Toni&Guy products all the time when i'm shopping in boots and have always wanted to try some but hadn't gotten round to it yet (story of my life) so this was a great chance for me to try it out. I used this product yesterday and love it, my hair felt unbelievably soft & smelt fabulous! Full Size cost £7.19 (30ml) which is what GlossyBox provided Yay! From www.boots.co.uk

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics - Onyx Eye Liner
I was extremely happy when I set my eyes on this because I have been dying to try a thick marker eyeliner but have never had the guts to stray from my usual eyeliner. I am in loooooove!! easily my favourite product from this months box. I can now do perfect, precise cat flick looks effortlessly! I can honestly say I will be re-purchasing this in the future. Full Size cost $14
from http://beabombshellcosmetics.com/
 Which again GlossyBox provided!

Dr Lipp - Original Nipple Balm For Lips (3ml)
I must admit when I found this in my box and read "nipple balm for lips" I thought hmm this isn't for me but I thought I better give it the benefit of the doubt and try it out. It's very lumpy and thick so I personally wouldn't use it on my lips but I did however use it on my heels. I did have cracked, sore, dry skinned heels so I tried Dr Lipp on them and it worked wonders! I was unexpectedly pleased with the results. This little baby has loads of different multipurpose uses for example lips, burns, abrasions, cuticles, eczema, dry skin patches it can even be used to shape your eyebrows... AMAZING! kinda like Vaseline in the whole multipurpose sense i guess. The Full size costs £11.50 at www.drlipp.com

Green&Blacks - 70% Dark chocolate bar:
The miniature bar of chocolate I found in my box was super adorable and it put a smile on my face! Cause let's be honest girls love chocolate, me especially! It was nice although I rarely ever eat dark chocolate (yes, i know it's healthier/better for you) as my favourite is white chocolate! It was a nice little bonus added extra. Sorry there's no picture I eat it haha!

My Overall Opinion Of This Months Box:
Overall I think for my first ever GlossyBox it was really good, I was a little disappointed for a first time customer that they didn't have a little "Welcome To GlossyBox" leaflet but oh well i'll live. I liked how the theme was kept throughout the whole box (even although it wasn't my cup of tea) and you got a lot more than what you actually paid for which is exactly what you're wanting! I also seen some other people get HD Brows bronzers or blushers which sucked because I would of loved to try some HD Brows products but none the less I got 3 full size products out of 5 so I cannot complain. I am happy with my box and looking forward to next months!

Drop me a comment below & let me know what your thoughts are and also what you got in this months Glossybox! XOXO
