As November is coming to an end, I hope everybody is getting super excited (like myself) about Christmas! And not loaded with the cold like me.
I recently stumbled onto the whole E.L.F (Eyes,Lips,Face) brand,trend on YouTube while watching some reviews/tutorials. I was totally intrigued and checked out the website only to be even more pleasantly surprised with how inexpensive the products were. I placed a big order as they were doing a 40% off promotion, couldn't resist. I heard a lot of mixed reviews for example: The shades online don't match the shades you receive, not a big variety of shades to match every ones skin tones, brushes snapping, No labeling on products,etc. I can honestly say that I do not believe any of the above statements because I am now a massive E.L.F fan! My advice for anyone on the fence about trying some products, give it a try because the products are unbelievable value for money and let's be honest,you can't please everyone, everybody is different. You'll either love it or hate it! Sorry this post is late I actually received my delivery last week, top marks for super fast delivery! I will review all my purchases and then I will follow it up with a hit & miss post, for my favourite and least favourite products. Brushes:
To kick things off I will start with the four brushes I purchased from E.L.F. I purchased a powder,complexion,eye shadow C and concealer brush. I think the brushes with the black handles are from the studio line, there is also brushes with white handles that I believe are the basic line.I adore all 4 of these brushes, I can't believe I've been paying loads of money for brushes that aren't even half as good as these ones at just under £4 each! These are now my essentials and I use them every single day. The bristle are so soft and feel great on your skin and blend my make-up with ease. They are also very sturdy and well made. Can't stop highly praising E.L.F for these brushes enough. Don't just take my word for it, try some E.L.F brushes out for yourself on there website!
Flawless Finish Foundation & Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20:
Don't laugh but I have never,ever tried tinted moisturiser before in my life hahaha! (There's a first time for everything.) And I usually never,ever stray from my foundation, so I was really excited to try these out and see the results. I don't really have dark skin or pale skin, I'm as I call it olive skinned so I tried to chose the correct shade for me which in my opinion is pretty hard to do with online swatches. Because there's always the risk of misjudging the colour due to your computer brightness etc. On this occasion however I was highly successful (GO ME!) The shades I picked were perfect for me and they were absolutely true to the swatches online. I love the pump that comes with the foundation it allows you to not waste a lot of product by pumping out as much as you need unlike pour foundations. I applied the foundation with the powder brush and I literally can't emphasis enough how flawless my skin looked it looked amazing like I didn't even have anything onthe way it should be, so natural. The only thing I would say is that although it is amazing value for money it doesn't give me the same amount of coverage my high end foundation does. I will use this as an everyday foundation and not a going out foundation. The tinted moisturiser I also applied with the powder brush and it went on effortlessly and I loved it, It done exactly what it said it would do it was lightweight and it hydrated my skin without feeling like anything was there. I will use this a lot totally satisfied with this product!
Mineral Infused Face Primer &
High Definition Powder:
Let me just say all E.L.F products are unbelievable size for the price of them, again I love both of these products. Both these products come in various selections of colours for different effects on the skin. I love the pump on the primer as well like the foundation its so useful for not wasting anything. The primer comes out jelly like and goes on the skin smooth and shine free. I don't particularly enjoy the scent or feel of it on my skin, I don't feel I've used it enough to decide if i would change from my Laura Mercier primer, but it's good for the price a must have for people on a budget.
I must admit I have never tried "High definition powder" before so this was a first for me. I think the packaging is so cute and elegant, totally looks like an expensive product. I applied the powder to the parts of my face that look shiny and any imperfections I had and it worked wonders! I can see me repurchasing this product again and again, it's a must have for anyone with oily skin or anyone really.
Hypershine Lip Gloss:
I bought two of these lip glosses because I couldn't get over the price, beyond cheap! I was not disappointed I love these lipglosses.One thing I would say is they are a little on the sticky side but great colour and shine.I love coral coloured lipglosses they work perfectly with my skin tone so ofcourse I purchased one of these in coral, truth be told I could've probably bought them all they looked fabulous! The applicator is great for precision and I like the idea of the twisty bottom to release the gloss, sometimes the tube squeeze lipglosses are super messy and you squeeze too much than you needed. I teamed these lipglosses with the E.L.F lip liners I bought and ended up with a beautiful combination. Heres some colour swatches below.
Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick:
I purchased these because they look pretty similar to my Clinque chubby sticks, which I LOVE. I could've purchased waaaay more than two because of the price but managed to contain myself haha! The products come nicely packaging and were a wonderful size for value for money as usual. I really,really liked these products I loved the shades,the scent,the taste,ease of use, pretty much everything. Best of all the colour stayed true to the online swatches so I don't have anything bad to say about these products other than they are an absolute steal! I think my favourite shade out of the two would have to be "Summer Nights" very sparkly and beautiful!
Studio Matte Lip Colour:
I rarely go for matte lip products but when the opportunity arises I jump for it haha! Again I went for a coral colour because it's my comfort zone. I wasn't sure what to expect from the product but I really liked it! I loved the packaging very sophisticated, and an overall great size product. The colour wasn't a pinky coral it was more a little orangy coral, but coral none the less. I have really soft moist lips due to my obsession with EOS lip balm so the matte looked beautiful on my lips and didn't dry them out. Not sure however for people with dry/cracked lips, or for the winter weather when everyones lips suffer. I would 100% repurchase again in variety of colours, happy customer. Long Wear Lip Liner:
When I was placing my order I made sure to pick up some lip liners because I use them pretty much everyday and I am running low on supplies. I got two very neutral shade and one had a shine to it also. I absolutely love the shades you don't appreciate them on the online swatches. I could pretty much team them up with any lip gloss,lip stick etc because the shades are so versatile. I love all the different combinations they could be used for. Overall fabulous product and when they say "long wear" they mean it!
Lip Stain: A lip tint/stain has became a must have item in your make-up bag. Me personally I tend to stick to red lip tints (don't ask me why haha!) So I finally broke loose and went for this super girly,dazzling, barbie pink lip stain. The colour reminded me of my nicki minaj lipstick from Mac which I love. I have to admit I was a tiny bit disappointed by this product just because it actually takes soooo long to dry. I think most other tints/stains take about a couple of minutes,if that. When I went to apply the gloss it still wasn't fully dry and ended up with the gloss brush covered in pink. Very sticky also. Haven't honestly used this product enough to say if I have grown to love it or totally didn't like it but it isn't a re-purchase at the moment. On a happier note you could totally use this product as a lip gloss but in my opinion I wouldn't class it as a lip stain.
Studio Make-Up Mist & Set & Daily Brush Cleaner:
I have never used both of these products previous to this, but I have totally been missing out. These are now essentials! When I first went to spray the studio mist & set on my make-up I did jump haha, I wasn't expecting such a big burst so I was a little worried in case it ruined my make-up. Don't worry because it literally dries in minutes and it honestly locked in my make-up all day. It done exactly what it said it would it's wonderful! When I clean my brushes I usually use a brush shampoo or baby shampoo and it takes a while for them to dry out, which can be annoying. If your like me and want to give your brushes a quick and easy clean during the week this is a must have for you! All you do is spray a few times on to your brush and wipe clean onto kitchen roll and there you have it anti-bacteria clean brushes but I also usually do a shampoo clean once a week! AMAZING products a must have at great prices!
Studio Eyebrow Kit,Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter &Complete Coverage Concealer:
Like most people I like looking for cheaper alternatives to my usual make-up.I use Smashbox eyebrow duo and I adore it I can't really see me changing any time soon. I wanted the E.L.F studio eyebrow kit in "medium" but it sold out so I ordered light, sadly it wasn't the right shade for me it was too light. There is a silver lining though, I gave it to my mum and she absolutely loves it! She uses it everyday. The packaging was great I may order it again in the future to try but in medium of course. I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the under eye concealer and highlighter!! The packaging is super handy and great. The colour match was also very good and I really fell in love with the highlighter. I put some on the back of my hand and applied with the E.L.F concealer brush! FABULOUS. A great buy! I really love the "complete coverage concealer pack" It has great coverage and a nice range of shades I probably should have bought it in light and medium so I could mix & match (I would recommend doing that!) it comes with a little brush also which is super handy for when you're on the move, travelling, or on the train etc haha!
I am an eyelash curler newbie. (OMG!) I know so embarrassing I have never used them before mainly because I have really long eyelashes so I've never really needed to or seen the point in using them. I thought "What the Hell?" I have never looked back since haha! I totally love eyelash curlers, honestly wish I had took the plunge and tried them years ago. My eyelashes now look perfect even more defined and bigger! They also already came with a replacement pad but I thought i'd purchase a pack for the price. Total best buy for the price amazing quailty! Thankyou E.L.F
Nail Polish:
I have this really weird O.C.D when it comes to my nails. I hate them unpolished, it bugs me so much they look so ugly! So you'll never really catch me with unpolished nails haha (weirdo I know haha!) The swatches on the E.L.F websites for there nail polish were all beautiful and the price is just beyond amazing so I bought two but I could've really bought them all haha! I adore glittery nail polishes so of course that's what I went for. I am in heaven they are sooo sooo gorgeous! I have had loads of compliments on my nails and what polish I have used. Massive hit with me! Will buy loads more polishes in the future. I will probably buy the nail cube that E.L.F has, it is a must guys! Not to forget how much polish you actually get and the packaging WOW!
My Overall Review On E.L.F:
No doubt about it I am now a huge E.L.F fan I will be re-purchasing and recommending to everyone, I have already recommended loads of there products to all my family and friends and they will be placing orders soon! I love spreading the word on good brands. I love every single product I ordered except I couldn't get the studio eyebrow kit in medium that was my fault for going ahead and ordering "light". It just goes to show you can get amazing quality products for low prices. I am so glad I found out about this brand and I honestly can't praise them enough for there amazing BRUSHES,NAIL POLISH,LIP GLOSSES,LIP LINER and all the rest. No exaggeration when I say please try them out! The delivery was great and fast. The swatches online are true to the actual products. The brushes are sturdy and won't snap easily. The shades do match skin tones well and finally there are labels on all products! So please don't believe everything you read or hear!
So THANKYOU E.L.F I can see us having a beautiful future together without killing my bank account haha! I appologise for the massive read but I was trying to be as honest and as short as possible!
