I feel like it has been January forever, so long and dreary. I hope you are all well? I've had a pretty exciting week. I spontaneously bought myself a new pet. I already have two dogs (Yorkshire terriers) But I've always wanted a turtle. So low and behold I got myself the cutest baby terrapin turtle and named him "George". I fell in love instantly as he's only a couple of weeks old and so so so tiny!
Went a little off the subject there haha. I went a massive haul a week or two ago there and I've still got loads to talk to you guys about. I know beauty blenders have been around a while now but I'm a brush kinda gal, and they haven't really interested me UNTIL NOW. I watched a lot of reviews, tutorials etc on youtube and a lot of people use them religiously kinda like they're holy grail item. I had seen them tuns of times while shopping in boots, so I decided it was time for me to jump on the band waggon and see what all the fuss was about.
I got the "Model's Own" beauty blenders as I've used brushes from this brand and liked them. I believe they cost me £8 from boots.
the packaging says: "When applying make-up or foundation with Model's Own blending sponges, you can smooth away visible lines & streaks by pressing gently against your face & neck area."
"Use the pointed end for hard-to-reach areas around your eyes, nose & mouth. Use the wider end to apply foundation, bronzer & blusher to larger & flatter areas of your face, forehead, cheeks & neck."
"Dampen when applying liquid foundation. To clean the sponge, wash in warm water & air dry."
So I also purchased a new liquid foundation and thought that would be the perfect time to test it out. I dampened it before use, this is done because when the sponge is wet it doesn't soak up all the make-up. Instead the make-up sits on the end of the sponge. I pumped my foundation onto the beauty blender (wider end) and you apply with a quick dabbing motion not swipes. It came in so handy for reaching my eye area and creases.
It went on effortlessly better than any sponge I have used before. I also used it to apply tinted moisturiser and banana powder. Really it's great for multi-purpose. It's also super easy and quick to clean! Which is great if your going to be using it everyday or a lot during the week. It's also handy to keep in your bag for touching up any oily patches on your face throughout the day!
My Overall Opinion:
I adore beauty blenders and I now totally understand the hype! Massive thumbs up from me. I have now used them everyday and haven't looked back, only wished I tried them sooner, but better late than never. It's a must have tool for any ones make-up bag. Your getting two for £8 whats not to love about that, FABULOUS. I 100% recommend these if you haven't already tried these! Can't stop ranting and raving about them.
Have you tried beauty blenders? How was your experience and did you love or hate them? Or if you have been wanting to try one I hope this helped! As always Thank you for reading!
