Apparently the third Monday in January is said to be the most depressing day of the whole year. Hmm I learn something new everyday. My day has been normal so far so I can't say I feel any different, I hope you all are having a fabulous Monday and aren't having any January blues or Summertime sadness haha!
I recently ran out of my all time favourite Laura Mericer primer, and hearing the hype on baby skin/lips I thought why not give it a try, something different. Boots were also doing a buy one get one half price offer on all Maybelline products which was great (I think the deal is still on) What a pain in the ass trying to find this product was. Every boots I went to only had "testers" left which drived me nuts but eventually I found 1 left. Since I realised they had an offer on I picked up the PINK baby lips too.
On first impressions I thought the packaging was super cute! In my opinion Maybelline nailed it with the bright colours and cute massive bubble writing. I thought the size of the products were great also.
Baby Skin:
Baby skin is said to instantly erase pores, its also suitable for all skin tones and types. It is light weight & apparently only aloud for adults (ooooh) The applicator is pretty nifty I really like it actually. it is like a kind of nozzle which also allows enough but not too much primer to come out, I suppose unlike some pumps it won't break which is also a bonus.
The primer itself is clear but not see through, it looks cloudy kinda siliconey and doesn't really have a scent.
Like most people I have pores on my nose, cheeks and forehead. They're not overly noticeable but it's always great if I can hide them. I done my skincare routine, facial wash, cleanse, tone, moisturiser and then applied the baby skin primer. A little definitely goes a long way! I must admit it did feel really light on my skin and it wasn't shiny or sticky, so far so good. I let it dry in a waited for the results.
After about 5 minutes I did start to see results it made my skin look even and I did see a difference in my pores. It didn't by no means "erase" my pores completely however as soon as applied my make-up it went on smooth and effortlessly and my pores where gone and my skin was soft.
My overall opinion is that it is a decent primer for the price and it is a great size product. I seen a few people were saying it is a dupe for benefits "POREfessional" I would say the packaging is a little similar but I don't know about the actual product itself. I am planning on trying it next so I will let you all know. I really liked it and I would definitely buy it again. A must have if you don't want to pay a lot for primer. You can buy it for £7.99 from Boots.
Baby Lips:
I felt kinda like Judas buying this as I am beyond loyal to EOS lip balms. Some times curiosity kills the cat, guilty as charged! I could not believe the price it was FABULOUSLY CHEAP! the line has 6 different lip balms, in super funky bright colours pink (Pink Punch),blue(Hydrate),yellow(Intense Care),green(Mint Fresh),orange(Cherry Me),purple(Peach Kiss). Baby lips is said to gives intense care and 8 hour hydration, and is nourishing for baby soft lips with SPF20.
I got mines in "Pink Punch" as I seen online that it was actually a beautiful pink shade. The packaging is so cute like the baby skin. I personally would say they could well be a dupe for EOS Lip balm hands down, because I own every EOS lip balm They smell unbelievable like EOS, and kept my lips hydrated for hours and unlike EOS some of them have a colour tint to them which I adore. Basically I can't fault baby lips at all I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE them and can't believe I didn't try them sooner. I will be purchasing them all for sure! Because I live in the UK getting EOS lip balm can be annoying because I have to order them online, where as I could get these on my high street so much more convenient!
I recommend these 100% definitely exceeded my expectations. So I don't see why I should pay more when these are so cheap and just as good if not better. You can buy these for Boots,Superdrug etc for £2.99 WOW! (Boots are doing, buy one get one half price.)
