The first thing I done over the holidays was, me & my boyfriend Stuart went ice-skating in George Square Glasgow. This has became one of our yearly traditions and although he's not the best, most confident skater he still gives it a bash, while holding on to me for dear life haha.
It was Stuarts little sister (Heather's) first Christmas and I was totally blessed to be able to celebrate it with her and the family. We bought her, her first ever teddy bear from Build-A-Bear. The shop was totally new to me although I had seen it in passing I had never actually went in and bought anything before. I had faaaar too much fun making the bear. We picked a little brown bear, stuffed it, recorded our own message in it, put a heart in it, kissed it and made a wish. Sooo cute I know, then we picked a cute festive hat and scarf for it. We then had to made a birth certificate for it which I think was a fabulous little extra feature so we filled it all out and called the bear "Buttons". She absolutely ADORED it. Here's some heart warming snaps of Heather in her Christmas outfit, sure too brighten up anyones day haha!
The next thing I done was help my mum put up her Christmas decorations. Sadly I never really took any pictures but my brother took a picture of the tree so al post that below. Our decorations for the tree are getting old now, definitely need to re-accesories next year!
Usually on Christmas Eve the tradition is I go to midnight mass with my dad, come home get into my PJ's and chill out and watch E.L.F and The Polar Express with my family. I make hot chocolate with the squooshy cream and marshmallows pretty much like the films and everyone else haha. However this year I wanted to concur making a gingerbread house. Me being so busy meant I couldn't make one from scratch. So I thought the next best thing would be to buy a gingerbread house kit, to bring back some Christmasy spirit. Sadly I left it too late! Me being the domestic goddess that I am haha, managed to made a rice crispy house (Yes you heard me correctly.) I bet you's all think I'm nuts but it actually turned out FABULOUS. It would be a super fun idea to make yourself or with kids. It only took about and hour/hour and a half to do and looks yummy and just as good as a gingerbread house.
Stuart and myself also got up to some baking over new years haha. We went into ASDA and bought some of those easy to follow cake kits haha we're such big kids. Too be fair Stuart is a terrible cook so he enjoyed this because it was easy bless him. Here was our results I got a barbie kit and he got a toy story kit and we also got a betty crocker cookie mixLabels: bblogger, blogger, catchup, christmas, comment, cooking, goodies., life, lifestyle, love, thoughts
