Birchbox Review! (January)

28

Hey Everyone!

Happy Monday from yours truly, we're now into February (finally!) Although it still looks doom & gloom this is the month of love, and if your not feeling the love then it's one step closer to Summer WOOO! I am in a particularly FABULOUS mood today pretty much because I woke up to a few deliveries which I am so excited about but al keep that under wraps for just now.
I got my Birchbox & Glossybox pretty late this month and I am just now getting round to reviewing them! (Bad Nicole) Better late than never!

The theme for this months box was "Tiny Tweaks" which is basically just meaning that we can make little changes to our lifestyle in order to be inspired and break down BIG resolutions into just some SMALL daily changes. Ofcourse the best place to start is your skincare/beauty routine am I right?
So out with the old and in with the new? Goodbye draw string pouch and Hello pink tissue! We also see no keep sake cards either but there was this great little book filled with good ideas to kick off your new year. I really enjoyed reading through it!

The Five Products I Received This Month:

(Extra) - Eye Mask - Birchbox.

Elasticizer - Philip Kingsley(20ml):

The first product I received in my box this month was a hair mask. I love when I actually know the brand, this brand is actually pretty hyped up online and everywhere else so I was excited to try out this product. I do use a hair mask on my hair once a week already so I had a rough idea of what to expect. I followed the instructions and applied it to wet hair 20 minutes before shampooing. It made my hair feel great. I liked the packaging and the sample size I'm sure al get a few times out of it. I'm still unsure how I feel about this product I'd probably need to use it a few more times before I could give my honest opinion. It is a little on the pricey side for a hair mask so I'm not sure if I would purchase the full size. The full size product costs £27.50 from Birchbox

The POREfessional - Benefit(7.5ml):

I was beyond excited when I seen this in my box, although I seen the spoiler and I knew everyone was receiving this in they're box. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this product but I can honestly say I LOVE it. I have used it religiously since I got it! I like the texture,the coverage,the colour, pretty much everything about it. This product is a pro balm that minimizes the appearance of pores. It feels lightweight and I definitely see results instantly. You can also re-apply if need be through out the day. The sample size is super cute but isn't huge but a little goes a long way! I also love this as it's handy for your bag. I can't rant and rave about this enough I went and purchased the full size product a couple of days ago haha! I am a benebabe at heart. The full size product costs £24.50.

Stemcell Super-Food Day Cream SPF 15 - Rodial(1ml):

I have heard of this brand also what are the odds three in a row haha! First things first I was so gutted with the sample size. It made me annoyed when I seen other people got a tube sample and I got a sachet (Grrrrrr) 1ml is definitely not enough I never even got a palm full out totally disheartened, worst sample size for Birchbox yet. It put me right off before I started. I applied as much as I could get out which was 3 tiny bits and it did make my skin look and feel amazing. However I can't say if it fits my needs or not as I would need more times to try as it is a little pricey. The full size product costs £42.00!

Basis Sensitive Hand Cream - Lavera(20ml):

This product is from a German brand called 'Lavera' which is a new brand for me. This hand cream is made from mit bio-mandel & Bio-Sheabutter and its organic. If organic/natural products are your thing then this would be a great choice for you. It has a lovely 'clinical' scent if you know what I mean and It kept my hands hydrated all day. I wouldn't purchase the full size product just because it doesn't fit my needs and organic/natural doesn't play a massive part in my decisions. I'm also very happy with my present hand cream, sorry this didn't WOW me. The full size product costs £4.45!

Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser - Vasanti(20ml):

The final product I received in my box was a facial cleanser by a brand called 'Vasanti'. The sample size and packaging was great. I am all about my skincare routine it's basically a big part of my daily routine so trying out a different facial cleanser was right up my street. I followed the instructions and I fell in love haha. I can totally see me purchasing the full size product it was fabulous. The joys of trying out new things I guess! The full size product costs £18.00!

Eye Mask - Birchbox:

Finally my little added extra was an eye mask from none other than Birchbox themselves. I use to own one of these and somehow lost it, AKA my mum threw it out. If you haven't seen one of these little babies before its a gel filled mask that cools the eye area and decreases puffiness. Your suppose to keep it in the fridge and use it when necessary. I also like to use these if I get a migraine as well! Thanks Birchbox. This product costs £10.00!

My Overall Opinion:

I really liked this months box. The product selection was amazing. I used every product more than once which is always a bonus and will continue to use them until they're finished. I also had to purchase the Benefit full size product because I loved it so much, and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to try before I bought. The only thing that let this months box down was 1) no full size products and 2) the crap sample size of the Rodial product. I am a huge Birchbox fan and that hasn't changed I'm looking forward to February's box now. +Birchbox
