I hope you are all having a good week? I am having a great week as I booked a lovely two week holiday for June/July. Today however I'm in bed feeling sorry for myself, loaded with cold (sniffs)
I was online reading some blogs and I came across a review of these little babies. I have seen really mixed reviews but as always I like to be my own judge of products. I had a recent clear out of all my nail polishes and realised I was in desperate need of new shades and textures. So it was great timing to try something new. Or thats what I told myself anyways. I ADORE gel nails. I think they look so gorgeous and really shiny and fabulous for everyday. However gel manicures can be a little pricey. So when I saw these I was a little sceptical if they could really deliver "gel nails".
Barry M is a great reliable brand in my opinion and super inexpensive. So I did have high expectation of these, as this is one of my favourite brands for nail polishes.
I purchased three nail polishes as boots happened to be doing the lovely "3 for 2" deal yay! Talk about Spring/Summer in a jar, these shades totally caught my eye and I was in love. I got them in:
A light lilac shade - 'Prickly Pear'.
A greeny turquoise shade - 'Green Berry'
A light barbie pink shade - 'Dragon fruit'.
This particular line has 18 shades, so great selection of colours to suit everyone.
I have a huge problem with 'chipping', my nails are terrible. A day or two after I've painted them they instantly look tacky. It really drives me insane. So everyone tells me gel nails are the best for being 'chip resistant' so I was preparing to put this to the test.
I painted my nails in the beautiful green berry shade a week ago, and they are still looking AMAZING in this picture I took today.(without flash)
I applied 2 coats for full coverage and it was so shiny I didn't even need a top coat. They dried fairly quickly. This picture doesn't really do them justice.
Overall Opinion:
I absolutely love these! They have definitely solved my chipping problem which I am unbelievably happy about. The colour range is amazing I am going to buy them all haha! They definitely gave me the gel nail polish look I was after, it looks like I have had them done in a nail salon. Barry M has done it again! These are 100% a must have for anyone like me who has a really bad chipping problem or really for anyone who loves the look of gel nails. I cannot wait to try the other shades so fitting for the coming seasons.
These are my favourite nail polishes at the moment and I can't believe it's took me this long to find them (ooops) Super happy customer.
