Birchbox Review! (March)

28

Hey Everyone!

I received my Birchbox so early this month YAY! I got it last weekend and was in total shock because I'm usually the last to get it haha. This month has turned out to be my favourite so far I've went away for the weekend, went to see Russell Howard, booked in for a new tattoo on the 28th and I'm going to see a fortune teller soon and it's my birthday in a couple of weeks Happy,Happy,Happy haha! I hope your month's been equally as good?

The theme this month was a Spring collaboration with the iconic British brand 'Lulu Guiness'. For those of you who might not know she is a British accessories fashion designer. The packaging of the box was amazing this month, super stylish. I received a benefit voucher for a free 'makeupper' & to try the new GIMME BROW, which I thought was a great bonus. As well as that I also received a £20 off voucher when you spend £100 on Lulu Guiness. Sadly I didn't get a booklet inside this month, birch box emailed me apologising and said they would send me one out.

The Five Products I Received This Month:

Stay Don't Stray - Benefit.
Pores No More, Pore Refiner - Dr.Brandt.
Serenity Body Oil - Aroma Works.
Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream - Molton Brown.
No.7 For Her - English Laundry.

(LIFESTYLE EXTRA)
Candy Rock.

Stay Don't Stray - Benefit:

I was excited to see this in my box as I recently went on a benefit haul and didn't pick this up but I really wanted to try it. It was a great size sample. It has a wand applicator for easy use and great for on the go. I am very loyal to my urban decay 'eyeshadow primer potion' but it's always good to try different alternatives. I applied this the other day before doing my eye make-up and it did work nicely and lasted all day like it said. To be honest it didn't 'WOW' me in any way it was just a basic eyeshadow/eye primer. Also it isn't cheap it's definitely on the higher end scale for eyeshadow primer, so I'll probably stick to my Urban Decay one (Sorry!) You can buy the full size product for £20.50!

Pores No More,Pore Refiner - Dr.Brandt:

I had very high expectations when I seen a product from 'Dr.Brandt' as I absolutely ADORE  the 'microdermabrasion' skin exfoliant. I am all about getting rid of my pores or hiding them so I was excited to try out this product. It is said to "minimise pores and absorb excess oils". Birchbox gave me a generous sample size which I am over the moon about. I applied a thin layer to my face after putting moisturiser on before my make-up. I honestly couldn't believe the results my skin was immaculate! I was so pleased with how smooth, clear and gone of pores it was. Dare I say it even minimises more than POREFESSIONAL. I am so pleased I got to try this product as it was amazing! I want to buy it ASAP but it is pretty pricey (waaaaah) it soooooo worth it though! It's always great when you get a product in these boxes that you wonder how you've lived without it this long haha? You can buy the full size product for £39.

Serenity Body Oil - Aroma Works:

So far I am familiar with all 3 brand yay what are the odds haha! I have used some products from Aroma Works before and really enjoyed them. They are so relaxing and let's be honest, who doesn't love to just chill out and relax with some gorgeous scents. I love most things coconut scented, so this of course was right up my street! I usually use Elemis body oil but THIS STUFF IS TO DIE FOR! I wish the sample size was bigger though (I'm just being greedy) I went for a shower and came out dried off and applied this all over. The smell honestly lasted forever and everyone was saying how nice I smelt haha! It de-stressed and totally relaxed me. It's a MUST HAVE in my opinion and this is definitely on my wish list! Also I found out that they do this scent 'nurture' in candle form OMG HEAVENYou can buy the full size product for £32.50.

Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream - Molton Brown:

I am a big Molton Brown fan so I was happy to receive this sample in my box. I love, love, love scented hand creams and this one didn't disappoint. I was a little worried by the name because I wasn't sure I liked 'rhubarb' as a scent, turns out i do. This product was fast absorbing, repairing and deeply nourishing that left my hands delectably soft and smelling good enough to eat! It is beautiful, and the packaging is super vibrant in colour. A gorgeous essential for every girls handbag. It's also a great price so I can't see any reason why I won't be purchasing this in the future. You can buy the full size product for £10.

No.7 For Her - English Laundry:

This must be the first time in my Birchbox history that I've known every brand in my box haha. I received a sample of English Laundry's Signature for her perfume not too long ago and it was nice. I actually prefer this one of the two because it is very subtle and not OVER powering. It's definitely a perfume for everyday, day time going out for lunch kinda smell. It has notes of pear and jasmine blended with gardenia, vanilla and sandalwood it is a beautiful, sweet, warm fragrance, it helps embrace spring/summer. I am positive this would be a hit with most people. You can buy the full size product for £47!

LIFESTYLE EXTRA - Candy Rock:

I thought this was the perfect little extra! This stripy candy rock represents the traditional sweet shops that inspired Lulu Guiness fabulous Spring/Summer 2014 collection how amazing!

Overall Opinion:

This month's box was definitely a keeper. It has me adding crazy to my wish list haha! I feel this months box for me is all about smelling FABULOUS. I WILL be purchasing 3/5 of this months samples for sure, you can't really argue with that! My favourites this month are without a doubt the "Aromaworks body oil in - Nuture" and the "Dr.Brandt - Pores no more, pore refiner". I am 100% happy with the product selection and pleasantly surprised with the delivery time. Pity there wasn't any full size products but I'm not too bothered. BRING ON APRIL!
