Birchbox and Glossybox are on the same page this month when it comes to the theme of there boxes, as Glossybox's theme is "Sweet Treats." As I said previously the themes very fitting as we all eat more rubbish than we probably should during Easter. (Not that I'm complaining) As always it came with the mini magazine, which basically has some discount codes, editors letter, interviews, tutorials, trends and loads more detailed information about the products you received in this months box.
The Five Products I Received This Month:
Lip Brush (L312) - EMITE MAKE-UP. (FULL SIZE)
Warming Ginger Massage & Body Oil - MONU Spa.
Beat The Blues (Pearl Pink) - MeMeMe Cosmetics. (FULL SIZE)
Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo - TRESemme. (TRAVEL SIZE)
Face & Body Gel - He-Shi Professional Tanning. (TRAVEL SIZE)
Lip Brush - EMITE MAKE-UP:
When I first seen this is my box I actually thought it was an eye brush or a small detailing brush, it was in fact a lip brush. It is unlike any other lip brush I own, I have straight or pointed lip brushes but this one is slanted. I was really excited as I have tried products from this brand before and really liked them and let's be honest, the more brushes the merrier. The brush itself looks very plain but nice, it is made from 'taklon' hair which is allergy free and easy to clean which is fabulous. I used this brush to create an ombre lip the other day and it is perfect for precise application. I really like this new addition to my brush collection and could see me buying other brushes for 'EMITE' in the future. You can buy this product for £17!
Warming Ginger Massage & Body Oil - MONU Spa:

I love, love, love body oils they're my favourite when it comes to relaxing and chilling out. My all time favourite is 'Nurture' by Aroma Works! but this is also a massage oil so this for me is a hard competition. I have tried products from this brand before also and really enjoyed them so I was looking forward to trying a new one. I wasn't overly keen on the scent which was a bit of a off put straight away, however it did feel amazing on my skin. I don't however like that you apply it and then have to wash it off, that's a bit of a waste in my opinion. I like it to sink into my skin and be able to smell it for hours but this was not the case. This sadly wasn't a hit with me, maybe if the scent would have been different I would've liked it more. You can buy the full size product for £25!
Beat The Blues - MeMeMe Cosmetics:

The second full size product in my box and I was really happy as I've received a product from this brand before from Glossybox and loved it. I received a lip tint which has pretty much the same packaging as this product so in actual fact I thought this was another lip tint. It's actually a highlighter which looks pretty much like 'benefits - High Beam.' I love to highlight & contour my face so I'm a hoarder when it comes to highlighters and bronzers I have way too many but will always accept another one into my collection. The application for anyone who has used Benefit's 'High Beam' or 'Sun Beam' is the nail polish brush applicator, which is so convenient. I got mines in the shade "Pearl Pink" which is perfect for highlighting all your best features as it's a shimmery ivory with a touch of baby pink. I do a couple of dots on my cheekbones and brow bones or apply under blush for a natural looking dewy glow. I am very pleased with this product and love how easy to use it is, I definitely recommend it as a kind of dupe to 'High Beam'. This product is amazing value for money and will last ages. You can buy this for £5.50!
Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo - TRESemme:

Obviously most people have heard of this brand and probably have used products from them so this one didn't really excite me at all or WOW me in any way. This is the first ever travel size product I've received in my box which is handy as I travel quite a lot. Let's be honest dry shampoo is not exciting, most of us use it during the week but we don't really pay much attention to it? I know my all time favourite dry shampoo is from Batiste, and I am pretty loyal to them and can't really see myself switching any time soon but you never know, right? So ofcourse I wanted to try this one out. The can itself is so cute and hand bag friendly but you can get batiste dry shampoo in various sizes also. The scent was nothing special in all honestly I much rather it had a nice fresh scent to it. Finally it didn't really do much to my hair at all, I didn't notice any difference to it what so ever. Frankly I was really disappointed. In the end I resorted back to my trusty 'tropical' dry shampoo from Batiste. You can buy this travel size for £4.99!
Face & Body Gel - He-Shi Professional Tanning:

Our last product is another lovely little travel size product, and it's from a new brand for me. I love having a tan, as do most people it makes me look and feel much better. Getting the right tan to suit you is another problem entirely. I have olive skin so I'm pretty lucky as most 'medium' tans suit me perfectly, however my face is the problem area. I dislike tanning my face because no matter what it always ends up patchy or really dark around my nose. (sigh!) The only thing that seems to work well on my face is surprisingly tanning wipes. I have never used a tanning gel before, I usually use mousse or spray tan so I was really nervous in case I suffered a fake tan disaster and we all know what that's like. I went ahead and applied this tan all over my face & body with my tanning mitt and washed it off the next day. I am in love! I was so pleased with the colour, consistency, EVERYTHING! It wasn't patchy, too dark or unnatural. However it does have the usually fake tan smell, which my boyfriend hates haha. Over all a great product that dries really quickly, isn't tested on animals and great wear off. I would definitely buy it again! This is great value for money though and is great for the face and body unlike other fake tan. You can buy the travel size product for £7.95!
Overall Opinion:
I think this months box was good but I can't help but think that the products didn't really match the theme at all. I thought the product selection was really good and also really happy with the sample sizes and two full size products and two travel size so great value for money. I feel that Glossybox always give more full size products than Birchbox but Birchbox has more exciting products. So it can be quantity over quality. Nevertheless bring on my FREE May box!
