The weekend is finally here after what seems like such a long dragged out week, or is it just me? My Glossybox arrived just in time to brighten up my week a little!
This months box was a collaboration with "Superdrug" celebrating the brand being 50 years old, WOW honestly couldn't believe it's been 50 years! I was extremely excited to see this box as we were all given a spoiler that we would be given 4 full size products this month! The selection of products we would be receiving was amazing so I couldn't wait to see what surprises were in store for me.
The Five Products I Received This Month:
Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss - I Love Cosmetics. (FULL SIZE)
The first product I received in my box was a full size lip gloss, from a new brand. I wasn't overly excited when I seen it frankly because it looked to me like one of those cheap,sticky,nasty lip glosses we all use to wear when we were 13, am I right? As you probably could guess it did of course smell like strawberries and cream, SHOCKER. As always I try not to judge a book by it's cover and wanted to give this product the benefit of the doubt and an honest review so I went ahead and tried it. It went on smooth and effortlessly and wasn't as sticky as I first judged it to be. It wasn't that thick gloopy consistency that I was dreading, in fact it was a light weightless gloss that felt really nice and hydrating on my lips surprisingly! It also is super shiny. This would look perfect on top of any coloured lipstick and is perfect for some added shine. I'm sorry I mis-judged this little diamond in the rough because it's actually pretty good! Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara - Rimmel London:
The second item in my box was another full size. It was a mascara from Rimmel London a very well known brand in the UK! I actually really like the "scandal eyes" range so the more the merrier on my part! I had been eyeing this one up a while ago so I'm glad I finally got to try it out. The best part of this mascara hands down is the brush! It has an "hourglass" brush that plumps and curves the lashes to create a bold wide-eyed false lash effect. It does exactly that, I don't have the longest eyelashes in the world so I need all the help I can get and this gives me everything I need. It's a great mascara to add to your collection especially if your like me and your lashes need a good boost! It's also a great price so it's not going to break the bank either so this is definitely a hit with me! You can buy this for £6.99 from SUPERDRUG.
Quick One Coat Professional Finish Nail Polish - B:
This is a new brand for me and it is the third full size product I got. I'm always down for adding some more nail polishes to my collection and I'm always on the look out for some "one coat" polishes because I'm impatient and can't keep my hands at piece. Which always results in un-dried nail polish EVERYWHERE! I'm always a little sceptical when brands claim they're polishes only need "one coat" because 8/10 times you definitely need TWO. I got mines in this really lovely turquoise colour. I really liked the aspect of the wide brush because it provided a smooth FULL COVERAGE with ease. It was really fast drying and left me with beautiful glossy nails, with just one coat! WOW. You can buy this for £4.99 from SUPERDRUG!
Large Doughnut Ring - Superdrug:
My forth and final full size product was one of those doughnut rings that you use for buns. I was pretty disheartened by this product because you can get these pretty much anywhere for literally next to nothing and I have so many lying around in my room. Sadly it's not really exciting so there's not too much to say really except I gladly got it in a blonde shade to match my hair (Thank God!) You can buy this for £3.99 from SUPERDRUG!
Blow Up Daily Volumizing Conditioner - BlowPro:
This is the first bonus sample product I got. I love to try out new hair products because I feel I don't spend a lot of time on my hair and it gets left out a lot of the time and not treated well enough. My hair is as flat as can be, which is very depressing so I have to do everything in gods name to give it a little volume so when I seen this I couldn't wait to try it. This conditioner is free of parabens,sulfates and sodium chloride which is always good. It is said to add body, prevent split ends and flyways without weighing the hair down in the process. It sounded a little to good to me but I let myself be the judge of that. I worked through freshly cleansed hair and then rinsed and blow dried. Believe it or not I saw the results my hair was full of volume without any effort from me and it smelt unbelievable! I can see this being the answer to all my prayers. I'm very happy with the sample size as I'm sure it will be finished in no time, definite re-purchase for me. You can buy the full size for £9.99 from SUPERDRUG!
Oil Beauty Lotion - Garnier:
I think this might be a new product from Garnier so getting a bonus sample was fabulous. Straight off the bat I HATE sachet samples! They infuriate me so much you just can't work with them and get barely anything out them, complete waste of time. So that angered me straight away the little product I did get out I applied all over my body. It smells wonderful, totally gorgeous. Nothing I love more than amazing scented moisturisers. My skin did feel silky smooth however it says it's "fast absorbing" which isn't true, I felt the wet/sticky sensation for ages. My skin did however have a lovely glow about it all day which you don't get with every moisturiser. Sadly I'm not 100% convinced by it and can't see me switching to it any time soon. Eclipse - GHOST Fragrances:
I'm a huge fan when it comes to GHOST perfume because my mum use to wear it all of the time when I was younger and I've grown to love it too! I always remember the iconic half moon shaped bottle. This is there newest fragrance so I was happy to get to try it out for the first time! It has notes of Amber,Lemon,bergamot,mandarin,
blackcurrent,apple,freesia,lotus blossom, rose,musk and blond wood. I can't stress enough how much I love warm fruity fragrances and this hits the nail on the head! I adore this fragrance it has a certain holiday feel to it, it's totally gorgeous. I like that it's not too over powering and a definite crowd pleaser in my eyes. I can see me purchasing this in the future and if anyone is looking for a new perfume to try I highly recommend this. You can buy the full size for £33 from SUPERDRUG.
Overall Opinion:
I'm pretty uncertain with how I feel about this months box to be honest. Sadly I feel like my expectations were too high and got crushed. For a while now I feel like I've got what I wanted in every months box picks, but this time I felt gutted as other peoples boxes looked so much better than mines and they got what I wanted. I would've preferred Vaseline - Spray&Go, Million lashes - L'oreal, BB cream - Garnier, Max factor primer. Really I would've much rather a different box, I totally feel cheated with mines, it's definitely the worst of the lot. I think if I get a box like this again I might stop my monthly subscription after all this time as well! I can't really complain because this was a FREE box but if it wasn't I would've been even more pissed. Fingers crossed June's is better!
